At io9 there is a gallery that reimagines Star Wars in a steampunk motif through custom made toys. Very impressive. I would read this comic or watch this animated series.
Above: Jabba's "throne" with Fortuna, Crumb, and Slave Leia.

The season is upon us. While the must-have titles are numerous, there are multiple must-rents, need-to-plays, and curious-to-tries. Some will definitely be clan multilayer material; others will just be solid single player romps. Here's the list. Minds, prepare to be blown.
October 14, 2008 - Dead Space: A unique take on survival horror in an abandoned mining facility in space. It combines Event Horizon, Alien, and a weird tendril whipping mutants. The game uses no HUD; all on-screen indications are holographic relays from the equipment or physical gauges on the dude's suit. I dig the art style. A few gameplay elements include strategic dismemberment of the baddies using mining tools instead of traditional weapons. The environmental puzzles also include manipulation of the ships artificial gravity.
: Its Rock Band, but, you know, more. The best thing about this game, aside from the improved wireless instruments, is that almost all song from Rock Band 1 can be downloaded into this game. You basically pay five bucks and insert the Rock Band 1 disc, followed by hte Rock Band 2 disc. So, a $7 rental and $5 in MS points gets you content from both games
October 19, 2008 - Rock Band 2: Special Edition
October 21, 2008 - Fable II: Obviously this is a sequel to the Xbox million selling RPG. This time a pet dog, muskets, and jump-in/drop-out co-op spices up the open-ended good or evil co-op campaign. Fable features some pretty complex interpersonal stuff: marriage, property, corruption, thievery, heroics. I'd like to checkout a demo, but I'm on the fence for a buy.

Note from Dillon: Consolidated for your pleasure.

You can get it on his website or via iTunes for free. I hadn't seen it yet and I'm downloading it now. The perfect way to test my Mac to HDTV link via DVI->HDMI.
Incidentally: I thought that iTunes 8 opened up HD movies to computer users. Sadly, it still is showing HD content only for AppleTV folks. WTF?

I know I've mentioned List5 here before, but List5 is AJ (Friend to the Cullmandos) Roach's blog. His mission is to ask a question in order to solicit five answers for 365 days. Recently, he has taken to producing videos which are often hysterical. I just rewatched them all tonight and thought I would share a few.

With all of the season premieres coming this month, don't forget Abrams' and Kurtzman's latest endeavor, Fringe. Tuesday night at 8/7C. I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I'm really pumped about this one. Hope it doesn't let me down.

The 360 division has gone mad with price drops. First the console, now a pretty health list of DLC. Effective immediately.
